Cecil B. DeMille said that people want and need direction. Service is the hallmark of Roller Hapgood & Tinney, and being able to serve people – to give them direction during their time of need – gives me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.

I have a genuine and life-long commitment to helping people at their most difficult and vulnerable time. My grandmother died when I was 7, and that occasion inspired my early interest in funerals. When I was 10, a local funeral director let me set up chairs, and clean up after services, and I was introduced to the technical side of the profession while I was in high school.

After completing my enlistment in the Army Mortuary Office, I studied mortuary science at the University of Minnesota, and completed my education at the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. I’m active in the California Funeral Directors Association (CFDA), and have served as an officer as well as on many committees and boards. For the past 15 years, I’ve also been Deputy Coroner for San Mateo County.

Office Manager

As the Office Manager for Roller Hapgood & Tinney, I am involved in all the different aspects of funeral planning. I love being able to support our staff, and helping to meet the needs of the families that trust the care of their loved ones to us. It’s very satisfying to be able to contribute the writing and organizational skills I acquired while earning my B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and to apply the skills I gained in my previous work as a human resource professional.
