Cecil B. DeMille said that people want and need direction. Service is the hallmark of Roller & Hapgood & Tinney, and being able to serve people – to give them direction during their time of need – gives me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.
I have a genuine and life-long commitment to helping people at their most difficult and vulnerable time. My grandmother died when I was 7, and that occasion inspired my early interest in funerals. When I was 10, a local funeral director let me set up chairs, and clean up after services, and I was introduced to the technical side of the profession while I was in high school.
After completing my enlistment in the Army Mortuary Office, I studied mortuary science at the University of Minnesota, and completed my education at the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. I’m active in the California Funeral Directors Association (CFDA), and have served as an officer as well as on many committees and boards. For the past 15 years, I’ve also been Deputy Coroner for San Mateo County.

As the Office Manager for Roller & Hapgood & Tinney, I am involved in all the different aspects of funeral planning. I love being able to support our staff, and helping to meet the needs of the families that trust the care of their loved ones to us. It’s very satisfying to be able to contribute the writing and organizational skills I acquired while earning my B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and to apply the skills I gained in my previous work as a human resource professional.

Helping people is what I love most. Being a member of the team at Roller Hapgood & Tinney Funeral Home gives me the opportunity to help people during difficult times; a chance to provide guidance and direction to individuals and families who want to avoid leaving behind emotional distress and unnecessary financial burden by planning wisely in advance.
I believe that careful listening and sensitivity are the keys to helping individuals and families plan their final arrangements beforehand. Taking as much time as needed to understand each families' unique needs, and to document their choices is the basis for creating a plan they can afford and one that honors their wishes. My years of experience serving families when a death has occurred helps me provide them with the support they deserve when creating a Life Celebration.
I have been helping families plan for their final arrangements since 2000. As a pre-need counselor at Roller & Hapgood & Tinney, I look forward to working with our community and to serving you.
I live in Northern California with my husband of 17 years and daughter, and I love to spend time with my family in Tahoe National Forest.
