Loree S. George,88, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Sunnyvale , CA.

She was a fifth generation Californian born to the late Mervyn and Christina Sherman, of Grass Valley, CA .  She married the late Kenneth E. George, and they resided for over 50 years in Palo Alto, CA .

Loree was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her childhood nickname of Happy was truly befitting of her personality, even when faced with hardships such as growing up during the Depression, and raising her daughter as husband Kenny served in WWII and Korea. She was an ardent 49ers, Giants and Stanford fan, as well as a lifelong lover of animals. She will be missed, but forever cherished and loved by all of us.

Loree is survived by her only child, Christine Leah Carver of Saratoga , grandsons Jeffrey Alan Carver of Morgan Hill, Scott Evan Carver and his wife Meredith of San Francisco, and friends Anna Kozlova and Nancy Hines, both of San Jose .

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

There will be a private internment followed by a private memorial.
