Jim (James John) Flatley died prematurely on Tuesday February 22, 2010 in Seattle, Washington. Eternally youthful he had just turned 50 on February 14th and recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary. Beloved husband, father and cherished friend, he will be missed beyond measure.
The Flatley family has resided in the bay area for the last 13 years. Jim was a successful executive for many well-known technology companies including Network General and Plumtree Software. He graduated from Penn State in 1982 where he captained the Nittany Lions basketball team. He was a volunteer firefighter, an EMT, a youth basketball coach and avid Yankee fan.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife Kathie, daughters Nikki, and Kristie and son Alex, his mother Mary Flatley, father in law Jim Brennan, mother in law Anne Brennan, sisters Debbie and Donna, brother John, many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Friends may visit from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday, February 28, at Roller Hapgood and Tinney Funeral Home, 980 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto where a recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be offered 11 A.M. Monday, March 1, in the Church of the Nativity, 210 Oak Grove Avenue in Menlo Park.
